Here are two pictures I've painted for my mother as Christmas presents over the years. They're acrylic mixed with plaster on canvas, the first painted in 2000, the second in 2002 or 2003.
The second one is of the Rue de Seine in Paris and is based on a photograph by Eugène Atget. I love this distinctive building, infact I had Juliet walk past it in Paris:
That view was based on photo I took, so to make sure it was a little closer to it's 1950's incarnation I cross-referenced this photograph by Peter Cornelius, allowing me to get the right "NON" grafitti in there etc!And speaking of 'Paris', David P. Welsh kindly mentions it here.

Wow! These are beautiful. Classic Gane mixed with a bit of Frank Auerbach. Really, really nice. Someone should commission you to do a fresco.
