I'm illustrating an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story, 'A Luckless Santa Claus'. Whilst working on a few preliminary character sketches I got a little carried away and decided to ink and colour one, making a stand-alone picture of it. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Also, Pamela Mullin at
Vertigo recently posted two pages from the forthcoming graphic novel 'Dark Rain', written by
Mat Johnson, drawn by me and toned by
Lee Loughridge. Please click

Beautiful work, Simon. Nice to see you back. It's been too long. Nice work on the graphic novel too. I love the toned down colouring. Was that at your request?
Thanks, Jonathan :)
No, the blue and grays were all Vertigo and Lee. His tonal work on Paul Pope's 'Heavy Liquid' is well work checking out.
Great to see a new post, always a treat to see yr stuff, been following it since the Arnie days...
That's very kind of you to say, Thomas. I dig your blog.
